GENERAL QUESTIONS
How do I sign up for classes?
A: Visit www.greecareerinstitute.com and select the appropiate subject heading the homepage!
Can you tell me more about your training?
A: Green Career Institute provides training in the areas of renewable energy. Sustainability, green transportation, green building, energy efficiency, corporate sustainability, water and waste management. Our solar courses for entry level PV installers, designers, and sales people/estimators have trained over 800 people and prepared them to join the fast-growing solar industry. Training is offered at state-of-the-art facility or online depending on the course. In-person courses, such as the solar training, offer a strong "practical" hands-on component, including hands-on installation of a grid-tied PV system, general knowledge of the mechanics and engineering of solar power systems, the basics of solar electricity, initial electrical principles, the initial concepts for solar design, how to work with the tools and equipment of the trade, how to install solar panels on to roofs, and a first level introduction to solar customer service skills and health & safely issues.
Can I take SS PV 2 or SS PV 3 without taking SS PV 1?
A: Course pre-requisites are stated on the website. For example, you will need to take on PV 1 course as a prerequisite for either our solar design course (PV2), or our solar sales/estimator course (PV3), so that you will have the necessary industry overview and detailed understanding of grid tied solar PV systems.
Do I need experience prior to registering for Green Career Institute classes?
A: Typically no experience is necessary for GCI classes. Any specific pre-requisites are stated on website. For example our PV1 solar installer classes just require basic reading and writing skills and no specific experience.
What do you charge for courses?
A: The price for each course is shown on our website.
When do I have to play for the class?

A: Yes; please contact or visit your local Private Industry Council representative for information on ETPL training and how to qualify.
What is the length of the courses?
A: Course durations are stated on the website.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
A: Necessary materials will be provided in the classroom, unless otherwise stated on the Course Description on our website.
What should I wear to class?
A: If the class has a hands-on component such as the PV1 solar installer class, you will probably spend time outdoors in the hands-on portion of the class. Please come appropriately dressed for sun exposure and for working with solar equipment on outside, sloping roof sections (even though the roofs may only be a few feet high!).
Do you give certificates of completion?
A: Yes, all of Green Career Institute's courses have at minimum a certificate of completion. Courses such as the solar PV series all have individual examinations that must taken and passed, and afterwards a certificate is mailed to the student. GCI certification is not a professional license issued by a government agency, and does not authorize a recipient to practice. Recipients of GCI certification must comply with all legal requirements related to practice, including licensing laws.
